She is a London-based, Chinese born illustrator, whose illustration practice involves observational drawing and reflective writing. Her projects often express a rebellion against stereotypes and the homogenisation of society by highlighting the differences and distinctions between individuals. She has used illustration as a way to reflect on and respond to my past experiences. She grew up in a standardised and rigid educational environment in China, where any ideas outside the box were constantly discouraged and repressed. I am concerned about the deadening, dulling, numbing effects of cultural homogeneity, so observing individual differences makes me feel grounded and alive.
She enjoys working with pencil and charcoal on site as well as at my desk, and she is interested in book publishing and editorial work.
